Therapy Services
Bournemouth, Dorset & Online
Therapy offers a supportive space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface of everyday life. Many people seek therapy when facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, or the effects of past trauma. Others come with a quieter sense that something doesn’t feel quite right—struggles with self-esteem or a desire to better understand themselves. Whatever brings you here, therapy provides time to reflect, make sense of your experiences, and develop new ways of relating to yourself and the world around you.
What to expect
When you first get in touch I will offer an initial phone call to talk through what you'd like to get out of therapy or post-diagnostic support. This allows us to figure out if I am a good fit for you. From this stage we can either book in an initial appointment or I can signpost you to alternative sources of support, which may be better suited to your needs.
I aim to be flexible with appointments and will always take your preferences for days, times and means of working (i.e. in person or online) into account when arranging sessions. For therapy, these will typically last for 55 minutes but occasionally I may recommend extended sessions. Weekly sessions are often most helpful at least in the initial phase of therapy, however I am open to discussing fortnightly or less regular sessions if needed.
During sessions I aim to create a warm, safe environment for you to feel comfortable to talk through your challenges, to allow me to understand what is troubling you. We will explore your goals for therapy, taking into account your resources, resilience and values. Together we will create a plan for therapy which will best help you to reach your goals. I am open to feedback along the way and am flexible in adapting my approach to best suit your needs.
Confidentiality
I respect the boundaries of confidentiality and will not disclose information to a third party unless you have given your permission to do so. In rare cases, your information may be shared without your permission if there is a concern about your safety or the safety of someone else, including a child, a vulnerable adult or the general public. I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and all personal information is stored in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016. Further details on how I maintain confidentiality will be provided when booking your initial appointment.
Please note: I do not provide services for people in crisis. If you are contemplating suicide or believe you are at risk of harming yourself or others please go to your nearest Accident & Emergency department or contact your local emergency services (telephone 111 or 999).
